Blogging #6

Yes I do like blogging. I find it very unique and fun. I didn't think blogging was somewhat helpful. It lets me express my feelings, my thoughts, and my writings. I have tooken blogging somewhat serious. I took blogging serious because I would think to hard just to write something and I would actually get headaches. Even though it was a simple subject.
I have learn that blogging is a helpful way for writing. I could just write and write about anything especially about my culture. It gives me a happiness to explain about my culture and why we are so important to this world. Its nice to let people know what your ethnicity is or where you come from. Just something that I enjoy to freely express my emotions and my thoughts.
Blogging for class as an assignment was a good useful strageties. It help me by reading other peoples thought and their writing. Also it help me by knowing what our topics were about for assign entry. Especially about how to write it and gives me helpful ideas to write.
Blogging very helpful and I am glad that we had blogging as part of a class assignment. This was a good class and thinking of finding a online site for blogs.

Cross Country and Track & Field SG#5

Well when I was a freshman in high school, I never really thought about running. When I was a eighth grader I never liked running even though I was in sports. I use to cheat alot on my running and always found excuses to not to run.

Once I got into high school, my attitude change and I was always quiet. So one stress reliever for me was running. So I joined cross country and I made the team. I always had confidence in myself when I would run. Our coach would drop us off down the canyon and we had to run all the way back to the school which would be like 4-5 miles long.

The first was a challenge, I wanted to cry and felt like giving up but my coach made me realize that I could do it and he was there for me every time I felt down. The next day I woke up I was so sore and didn't even go to school on how sore I was. I was in bed all day.

But as time went on I had the courage, support, and motivation to make it to state that year which I came in like 73rd place which was bad for a first timer. So every since then I look up to my coach for the times he pushed me and gave me the motivation.

Say No To Pink Slime AE#5

I believed that they shouldn't be putting Ammonia just to kill the bacteria and trying to make the meat be healthy. Why do this? Its stupid and very agitating. They could just trash the meat. Some people are getting sick from this. Although they shouldn't even be making it for dog food too. They are just like human too and also be treated like one.

One thing I didn't like from the video and the article was when they said the meat are now in school food lunch. This is not safe for children, especially in the movie in Food Inc., where a young boy died from eating just a burger.

The USDA needs to realize how many lives they are putting in danger. It would be great if they cared about our health.

Native American Church

First of all my religion is Native American Church (NAC). This all begin hundred of hundred of years ago that has been passed on from generation to generation. I'm still learning the concept of our culture. The way we sing, pray, and contribute of thoughts to mother earth and to the holy spirits. It brings happiness to me that I am a Navajo.

The teepee is faced toward the east and when you enter you go around counterclockwise. The moon is represented as our life span.
The reason we have peyote meetings is someone or the family is getting a blessing done for whatever reason they need it for.
The peyote meetings start in the evening and end till the next morning to sing, share our thoughts, and to pray to mother earth for the blessings that are given to the family or the person. We stay up all night eating peyote for saying thanks for the herb thats going to help the person.

I believe in our religion because my grandfather was a medicine man and he made me believe into our culture.

It is a blessing to be apart of good religion and culture.

Here is a song you listen to that is a peyote song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2j8zmPfXDA

Food Inc. AE#4

                                            FOOD INC
The movie Food Inc, was very interesting and very educational for me. I've never really thought about how much issues could happen when food comes along. I thought everything was safe and harmless. I didn't think the food industry had to go through so much.

I have never really thought about where the food came from, or how safe it was, or even if it could kill a certain person. Now that  I think of it, it makes me wonder everyday to know if my food is safe and that my health would not be harmed.

I believe that this is cruelty to animals they should at least breath the air we breath especially fresh air. They don't deserve to be put into a shack. They are just like human beings, they deserve to be treated better.

Miss Navajo Nation SG#3

Well there is this one pageant on the Navajo Reservation, it's called Miss Navajo Nation. Miss Navajo's duties are a leader to guide and be a a role model of the Navajo Nation.

Every pageant must have requirements, so this one is kinda different. The requirements is must not be married, between the ages of 18-25, must have a high school diploma, and be able to speak the Navajo language.

In the competition they compete with the following categories which is answering questions about traditional and modern customs both in Navajo and English, sheep butchering, and performing a contemporary and Navajo cultural talent.

This pageant makes me wanna practice more and more everyday to prepare for it. I've always felt like a leader and I've always dreamed of becoming Miss Navajo Nation. Ever since I joined my 8th grade pageant. I believe I have everything to win this competition and to represent my hometown and also the Navajo Reservation.

I'm in love with all the clothing they wear in the pageant and there jewelerys.

Wall- E AE #3

My reaction to the movie clip was devastated. I cannot believe how a cartoon movie could really connect with real life situation. It feels so real and heart breaking to see what a beautiful world of nature turn into something that ruined so much people. There is not one single life creature or plant showing. This really makes me wonder if our world today will dramatically change.

As I was watching some things that really caught my attention was the way they were communicating with each other. When the guy was on the moving chair and he was talking to this one guy on his screen thinking of what they are going to do that do. It made me see that, the only way the communicated was through the screen but not actually talking face to face. Even the parents were communicating with their children through the screen. I want to know what kind of parenting they had. Its not right to talk to your kids through the screen, wouldn't you want to actually see them in person, feeling that great love of giving hugs, showing how happy they are that they have them to emotionally and spiritually be in touch with them.

Another thing that caught my eye was when the guy told wall-e to take the cup and he fell off his chair. He was so big that he needed asisstance to help him get back on his chair. They are not getting the physical exercise they need. Also the way they were eating was sipping through a cup with food that was blended together. These characters in the movie could have health problems and losing their family.

Hopefully someday technology will never work again so we could once be a family and live the life with the nature.
